With more than 130 years of history and tradition and more than one million members world wide admitted since its founding, The DAR steeps itself in a vast array of service work, owns and operates an historic National Headquarters building with extraordinary collections. Daughters participate in countless activities taking place locally, nationally and globally, there is much to learn about the DAR.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is a minimum of eighteen years old and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. See if you are eligible here.
Are you unsure of where to begin? We will help you navigate the application process. You will meet with our chapter registrar who is will assist you with your application and answer any questions you may have, We also have a world renowned Genealogical Research System that you can use to help you on your membership journey.
